General Stuff You Can Easily Do
If you are having problems with traction, a way to increase it is to put a 40 lb bag of salt in your trunk. For best traction results, use snow tires with proper depth of tread.
You can estimate when to change a tire using a penney. The depth of the treads should be half a penney.
A dedicated snow tire will usually out-perform an all season tire. Do not run snow tires during warmer months. They are soft and wear more quickly.
